Small Oil using my son as model, this piece evokes a calm or pensive state before one's long journey. I wanted to play with ornate costume to set this in a universal time, not old or new. And the gaze looking straight on to confront in a powerful way.

Side-Street Sunset

On the way home from work I was stopped in my tracks with this pretty sunset. Pulling over to the side of the road I grabbed my gouache kit and quickly captured its essence. An exhilarating experience. This piece is framed and ready for a little nook. I am showing it here with two other small paintings.
