Side-Street Sunset

On the way home from work I was stopped in my tracks with this pretty sunset. Pulling over to the side of the road I grabbed my gouache kit and quickly captured its essence. An exhilarating experience. This piece is framed and ready for a little nook. I am showing it here with two other small paintings.

Sunset Street

I painted this for a Collaborative Art Exhibit of the San Fernando valley Arts and Cultural Center and Galeria Gitana. I wanted to capture the beautiful sunset light that makes even a mundane street anywhere in the valley look beautiful. I drove to this spot after work for about 3 sittings to get the light right. At this time there are only a few minutes to work before that light is completely different!
