]]> This is a painting I created for a client who wanted this as a gift for his wife.  It was a surprise for her and I so enjoyed painting it.  I love still life and painting fruit, flowers and such, but the beautiful yellow color of the lemons along with the depiction of the fresh lemon slices was really exhilarating and I wanted to go all out and create the most idealized lemons ever.  Witnessing the gift being presented was a real treat and makes this work so meaningful.

]]> Perhaps Wallace Stevens was moved by ‘A Dish of Peaches in Russia’ in the same way I was by the Kabocha Squash, for being “full of the colors of my village / And of fair weather, summer, dew, peace.”

I loved the Christmas Show at Galería Gitana which gave me an opportunity to show my “Kabocha Squash.” I was so proud that it was selected Best of Show by Scott Kiche, a painter I deeply admire!

I love this gallery and I surely had the perfect painting to fit its annual theme.  Had a blast meeting up with artists i revere and loved the chance to meet some new ones.  

The shows are always so professionally arranged and in a lovely setting in the San Fernando Valley.  Thank you all for coming and making my night!
