During the pandemic my daughter and I made sure to get out each weekend to soothe our souls. One of our favorite places to visit is an old grapefruit orchard on a beautiful ranch, our hidden treasure. My painting had become sporadic and I was feeling very uninspired but this day I had in mind to capture my daughter, my muse, in an otherworldly beauty, something magical and mystical. And so we worked on capturing that together. Later on in thinking about what it should be called I realized it was definitely about a time a place and mostly this person who I treasure so much.

The online show will be up until June 31st, click here if you’d like to check out the show. I am quite honored to be included!

This is a portrait of my mother. I remember one of the last visits we paid her not long before her passing away: we wheeled her out to the patio and I placed a flower in her hair, she was very peaceful and happy. As soon as i saw her in front of the yellow wall I knew I had to paint her.
